CAD
To design the airplane, we used SolidWorks 2008 to create a CAD assembly of the frontal fuselage area. We also created CAD models of the components that we knew would have to fit in the main part of the airplane. This way, we were able to map out an efficient and lightweight use of the space in a three dimensional, visual representation.
The design of the bombing system was ultimately decided due to its simplicity. We knew that with just a two person team, we would need either a multiple bombing system that was easy to create and implement, or not have a multiple bombing system at all. As can be seen in the pictures, the bombing system we created is a very compact and lightweight system. It ultimately has a storage capacity of four bombs, which are 1/2" wooden balls.
